— The Approach
You’ll never once wonder what to do with your hands.
Most women don’t dislike being photographed — they dislike being left to figure it out alone. I learned that the hard way, sitting for my own portraits in my early twenties: lovely photos, but a photographer who told me to move and never once told me how. I walked out of that studio promising no woman would ever feel that lost in mine. So I direct every moment — where to look, how to stand, when to breathe — until being in front of the camera feels less like a test and more like being looked after.
Every woman I photograph is
a story worth witnessing.
My purpose is simple: to make a woman feel seen, heard and celebrated in front of my camera & to create portraits her family will treasure for generations.
—— Meet Lucie
I’m Lucie Amanda, the heart behind the camera.
For more than a decade I have made my living photographing women — and watching something shift in them as I do.
A camera found its way into my hands in my late teens, and I taught myself everything from there. Landscapes first — and they bored me. Then the children at a friend’s party, then newborns, until I found the thing that would shape the rest of my career: I was far more interested in the mother than the baby. I loved giving her the spotlight — pampering her, listening to her, making her the one being celebrated for once.
What I learned early on is that a woman is rarely photographed well — and most have the proof. So many women would rather sit in a dentist’s chair than be photographed, not because of how they look, but because no one ever made the experience feel good. That is the part I set out to fix.
—— Why Women
The boldness that only arrives later.
I photograph women of every age, but the ones who arrive at forty, fifty, sixty undo me. There is an elegance to them. A boldness. A calm, unbothered confidence that only seems to arrive once a woman stops performing for anyone.
In June 2027 I turn forty myself. To mark it, I’m photographing forty women in their forties, fifties and sixties — a year-long portrait series and gallery exhibition I have been quietly building, called ICONIC over 40 — celebrating women who deserve to see themselves the way I see them.
—— Why It Matters
Photographs cross the walls between generations.
A few years before they passed, I photographed my grandmother and grandfather. Those portraits are how I choose to remember them — not in sickness or in pain, but strong, sassy and entirely full of life.
Over the years I’ve lost clients too, and it has only deepened why I do this. A photograph reconnects us to the people we love. My own twins never met their great-grandparents, yet they know their faces, they ask about them, and they pore over those pictures fiercely — as if they could climb inside them. That is what a portrait does. It keeps her in the room long after.
The first time a woman truly sees herself again — back in her own power — it undoes something. It usually happens at her viewing appointment, on the screen or in proofs, long before any album is made. I have watched daughters cry at their mother’s portraits. I have watched women in their sixties laugh from somewhere I think they had forgotten existed. And the moment I’m proudest of is the quiet one: when a woman chooses a piece of wall art of herself, or of herself with the people she loves — because I know it will hang where it’s seen every single day, a daily reminder of her, and of how much they love each other.
“You’re the soul goddess whisperer.“
A client gave me that name. A wink, I think, at the way I tend to see people — not the body they arrive in, but the soul underneath, and my one job: to make it shine.

—— How I Work
An experience built to remove every reason to say no.
I photograph and direct every session myself — but I don’t do it alone. A trusted team works alongside me, from hair and makeup to the people who design and install your wall art. It’s how I keep the experience personal while the studio grows.
— 01 —
It starts at your kitchen table.
Before anything is booked, I come to you for a home consultation. We talk through what this is really about, plan the session, and design the wall art for your home together — so nothing about the day is a surprise.
— 02 —
We pack your bag together.
You’ll never stand in front of your wardrobe the night before, wondering what works. We plan your outfits in advance and pack your bag together, so you arrive feeling ready instead of nervous.
— 03 —
You choose your portraits in person.
When it’s time to see your images, you won’t be left alone scrolling a gallery of hundreds. We sit down together — on screen and in print — and choose the ones worth living with, including the wall art my team designs and installs for you.
—— In Their Words
“Lucie made me feel like a true woman. I honestly feel like I just received a gift I will have forever — to show my children and my grandchildren.”
